Six quirky things

I have never been tagged before so I did not even know how to respond to this e-mail request I recieved from Sharad until I saw his blog! Anyway I have been asked to disclose six quirky things about me. My computer’s inbuilt dictionary tells me (I am far too lazy to consult a real dictionary) the following about the word ‘quirky’ :-

quirky |ˈkwərkē|
adjective ( quirkier , quirkiest )
characterized by peculiar or unexpected traits : her sense of humor was decidedly quirky.
DERIVATIVES
quirkily |-kəlē| |ˈkwərkəli| adverb
quirkiness |-kēnis| |ˈkwərkin1s| noun

So after some deliberation I would have to say that I am quirky overall but having to put six quirky things here I would say these would be my favourite:-

  • When as a kid I asked a neighbour who had a water supply problem if he used mango juice to clean his backside when the neighbour was complaining about having to drink juice instead of water all the time.
  • When I had a surgery and then ended up having a quarrel with my mother in the hospital after waking up from anesthesia about the fact that she did not know what kind of cookies I liked and then passed out again
  • I am sexually aroused by the smell of newly printed money (Seriously!)
  • I dumped my final year university Economics exam to go to Tibet
  • I have never worn the colour black, the closest I have come to it is wearing black socks
  • I love the sound that cash registers, credit card machines and ATM’s make. I also love elevator music, Japanese yamanote line station theme music especially this particular one (it is even the ringtone for my phone) and sounds vending machines make
  • I would love it if some of my other blog friends could do this tag, how about vinod, vikram and hedonist. Lets see how quirky you all are!

      Truly Quirky ! :D

You know, as you have managed to keep your identity a big secret, I guess this helps in knowing something about you! Do you know that at first I thought you were a woman!! :) However I realised after some time that you were not. I guess it was the recipes on your blog which led me to believe that. We all have these stereotypes in our head. Not that these 6 things tell me much, but better than nothing.

      Hi Odzer,

Interesting quirks! Particularly the one about the smell of newly printed money! Did you make it out in that printing press?! Don’t like used stuff, do you?!!!

As far as tagging me goes, my blog is not personal, so I will not be able to post anything there. But let’s see…may be I will let a few drop out here, when I’m in the mood.

Ok, since we are talking about smell, I like the smell of the interior of a new car.

Note to self: be careful when reading Odzer’s blog in the office, people tend to notice when a seemingly hard working colleague all of a sudden starts giggling…

I’m going to have to think long and hard about this…..

    • Sharad Bapat says:

      thanks for doing it.

mango juice to to clean backside :P how old were u wen u asked the question??

and sexually aroused by newly printed money?? very funny..oops quirly

@ Sana : Thanks! I am unashamedly quirky!

@ Nita : Odzer is usually a man’s name. My life is an open book though. At least that is how it feels when you write a blog. Men can cook! Its just that women won’t let us. I am just kidding…

@ Vinod : I have my doubts they would let me go near a printing press. You do not have to if you can not! Just for a lark though you can certainly drop a few here anytime you wish. Oh by the way interesting that you mentioned the smell of a new car. I can not recall but someone else once told me that they like the smell of a new car as well.

@ Hedonist : Happy employees increase productivity, may be your company should hire me as a consultant. In these hard times I can be a crucial ASSet for any organization. Oh come on it can not be so hard to think about your quirks, I can think of at least two right away!

@ Sharad : Thanks for the Tag dude people seem to have enjoyed this post :-) Oh I was around eight years old at that time. Give or take an year or so. My mother was standing right next to me at the time by the way….She had a laugh about it for around a decade or so.

I fulfilled my part of the deal.

    • Pooja says:

I think everything about u is soo quirky (which is good!).. u shud rather do a post on the six things that are not so quirky about me :P he he…

I had a hearty laugh reading this one though :)

    • odzer says:

@ Vikram : Oh thank you!

@ Pooja : Interesting. I would not know those, I will have to think now.

    • Hedonist666 says:

Ah now I’m curious, which two are those exactly? And it’s not hard to think about quirks, it’s just hard to pick and choose which six to reveal to the world ;-)

    • odzer says:

@ Hedonist : I will give you some hints. One has got to do with our favourite fast food chain restaurant and the other has to do with your text messaging skills while commuting.

    • Hedonist666 says:

LOL yes those are already on my list of quirks to include. now to select four more… I’ll be writing my post today…..
