Sneaky Chinese Propaganda
Now as most of you are aware this is hardly a political blog. My main concerns in life are dealing with plastic bags and garbage. I do not pursue higher political ambition than that! However I am writing this since I discovered the Chinese government propaganda being displayed on my blog’s Google advertisements. Well to be fair enough I can always control what appears on my blog but only after it has appeared. However after the advertisements appeared which you can see in these images, it set me thinking.
Here we have a country that has spent billions upon billions of dollars trying to project an “image” on the world with their Olympics. Well of course that is something that comes naturally to the Chinese. They are very conscious of how the world views them both on a personal as well as a national level. Well they have of course no one else fooled but themselves so I guess so far we as their fellow world citizens have been humouring them well. So as I have done some damage to the poor Tibetan people who they have basically taken over and harassed for a couple of decades now I have decided to ban these Chinese propaganda and I also want to state explicitly that I have no association with the Chinese government’s views on this subject.
On a slightly different note I would also like to say that someone I know although indirectly has been rotting away in a Chinese prison in Tibet since before the Olympics. Just because he is a monk and he dared to protest. May be a better propoganda for the Chinese would be to let all the prisoners they took before the olympics in Tibet go free now. That is just my humble suggestion of course. Now that I have made that clear I can go about again writing about things that really do not matter to anyone else except me.

Hey Odzer, I understand your anger. I live at the edge of Tibetian neighborhood and I happen to know some people their stories. I hope you have changed settings in google adsense so that the word ‘china’ is blocked.
Well Well, it seems both of us are enjoying the fact that Google is indeed serving the world nowadays.. Next step will be Chinese government propaganda on the first page of all search results, no matter what you’re searching for! Do you suppose Google has been infiltrated?
China has always wanted to depict themselves a fair country by just releasing the news which are good and lot were happening within their country which are not known to the world not even to their people. And their hold on Tibet.. I can’t comment on that as I have to know a lot about them.
And odzer I have a small, little surprise gift for you:
http://kanaguonline.wordpress.com/2008/12/11/butterfly-award
I hope you will like it
@ Final Transit : Well yes I have banned the particular URL because I do not want to completely ban all Chinese adverts, some of which may be quite unrelated to Tibet. I have witnessed some stuff first hand as well which was quite nasty way back in 2001.
@ Hedonist : Google! They please the Chinese government to no end. They have removed all reference to the free world on the Chinese version of their page and helped the sneaky Chinese to censor their English version in the PRC. Talk about collaborators. All they care about is money.
@ Kanagu : Oh well everyone knows what China is about and the only people who seem to be convinced that China is a fair place seems to be the Chinese themselves. Thank you so much for the award! I will be doing a post about that in a few minutes.
A lot of people seem to hate China. I guess Tibet is a major thing that they have done wrong and I didn’t know a friend of yours was involved Odzer. I hope he is released soon. I personally do not like the Chinese state. But the people are good people.
@ Nita : Well China….I guess I should say this that I have a few Chinese friends as well but of course its their government that everyone is quite tired of.
Do blog about the 2001 incident Odzer. Ofcourse if you deem it bloggable.
@ Final Transit : Sometime perhaps. Thanks.
